Today, the European Commission adopted its 2021 Enlargement Package, providing a detailed assessment of the state of play and the progress made by the Western Balkans and Turkey on their respective paths towards the European Union, with a particular focus on implementing fundamental reforms

President, Honourable Members,
I am happy to be here to be able to present to you the 2021 enlargement package that we have just adopted at the College meeting this afternoon.

Thank you, thank you very much. I am very glad that I can present to you as well now the enlargement package of this year.

Today, at the 23rd EU-Ukraine Summit in Kyiv, the European Union and Ukraine reaffirmed their strong partnership and commitment to strengthening the political association and economic integration of Ukraine with the European Union.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, Charles Michel, President of the European Council and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, met in Kyiv today for the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit and issued the following statement.

Today and tomorrow, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, will be in Ankara, Turkey. The Commissioner will co-chair the first EU-Turkey High-Level dialogue on Migration and Security with Minister of Interior, Süleyman Soylu.

Tomorrow, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel will join the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for the 23rd EU-Ukraine Summit.

The European Commission, on behalf of the EU, has disbursed €125 million in macro-financial assistance (MFA) to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Today is a very important day. Our leaders will not only confirm but also make it very clear that we are committed to the full integration and membership of the Western Balkan within the European Union.

The EU-Western Balkans summit took place in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia, on 6 October 2021. EU leaders agreed on the Brdo declaration, with which the Western Balkans partners have aligned themselves.

On 06 October, EU and Western Balkans leaders will hold a Summit in Brdo pri Kranju, hosted by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and chaired by President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Thank you very much for receiving me here. What a special moment to launch the start of the works to modernise the Niš to Brestovac section of the Rail Corridor 10. We have seen it in the film, the video.
