Elma Velić is a Bosnian entrepreneur, author, and communications strategist working at the intersection of leadership, media, and civic engagement. She is the founder and CEO of Krater Communications, and currently serves as the Director of the Tourism Board of Bosanska Krupa. A Fulbright Scholar at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and a BAZA (Balkan Women’s Academy) alumna, she brings international perspective to her work on democratic participation and public dialogue. Velić is the author of two books and a long-time civic activist advocating for women, youth, and marginalized communities, particularly in smaller local environments where she believes the foundations for meaningful social change are built. Her work focuses on advancing equity, strengthening local leadership, and amplifying voices that are often underrepresented in public decision-making.
