As the Western Balkans mark the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Bulgaria and Romania join the Schengen area, and Ukraine and Moldova complete their first year of accession negotiations, 2025 marks a critical year for European enlargement. Friends of Europe’s annual EU-Western Balkans Summit will take place on Thursday, 4 December. Thinkers and doers from EU and Western Balkans governments, industries and civil society, will engage in a dynamic series of sessions and interactive discussions designed to set out the next steps for the EU accession process.
