President von der Leyen and College members in Rome for the Ukraine Recovery Conference

President Ursula von der Leyen will participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, taking place on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 of July, in Rome, Italy. Executive Vice-President Raffaele Fitto, along with Commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis, Andrius Kubilius, Marta Kos, Dan Jørgensen, Ekaterina Zaharieva and Glenn Micallef will also participate in the conference. 

The conference marks the fourth edition of this annual high-level political event dedicated to Ukraine's rapid recovery and long-term reconstruction in the context of Russia's full-scale war of aggression. The Commission plays a key role in maintaining international focus on Ukraine's recovery, both during the war and in the post-war period. The conference serves as a platform to align political support and mobilise funding. Over the course of the two-day event, the Commission will announce additional measures underscoring its unwavering commitment to Ukraine.

On Thursday, ahead of the opening of the conference, President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver a keynote speech at the 7th French-Italian Economic Forum Confindustria-MEFED, which will be broadcast live on EBS at 8:45 CEST. President von der Leyen will then deliver a speech during the first plenary session of the Ukraine Recovery Conference. Italy's Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, and Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, are also taking the stage in this segment. The President's speech can be followed live on EBS at 10:30 CEST. 

In the margins of the conference, the members of the College present will have meetings with national representatives, while they will participate in side events focused on reconstruction, the country's defence industry and energy infrastructure as well as the Ukraine's EU path and the support of scientific and cultural sector.
