
Today Commissioner Kos is travelling to Prague, Czechia, for a two-day working mission focused on strengthening political support for EU enlargement and enhancing cooperation with key stakeholders.
Commissioner Kos will deliver a keynote address at the conference “New Impulses for EU enlargement: Opportunities for Citizens and Businesses” and engage in discussions with Czech government officials, business leaders, and civil society representatives. She will meet with European Affairs Minister Martin Dvořák, Foreign Affairs Minister Jan Lipavský, and Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil to exchange views on the enlargement agenda and regional priorities.
As part of a visit to Radio Free Europe, Commissioner Kos will underline the importance of the freedom of the media, and the media’s role in keeping an informed public debate across the EU and its neighbourhood including on EU enlargement.
In addition, Commissioner Kos will meet with Czech women leaders from media, politics, and civil society to discuss their role in shaping the enlargement narrative and promoting inclusive, democratic dialogue across the region.
The mission will underscore the European Commission’s commitment to working closely with Member States on maintaining momentum around EU enlargement, informing EU citizens about the benefits of EU enlargement, and deepen engagement across the EU’s neighbourhood.
