The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will travel to Davos next week to participate in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Executive Vice-Presidents Ribera, Virkkunen and Séjourné, together with Commissioners Šefčovič, Dombrovskis, Hoekstra, Kubilius, Kos, Síkela, Roswall, Serafin, Jørgensen, and Tzitzikostas will also participate.
The President will deliver a special address at the opening session of the World Economic Forum, on Tuesday 21, at 10:50. On Thursday 23, she will speak at the launch of the Global Energy Transition Forum. This event will be broadcasted live on EBS.
The members of the College will take part in panels and engage in discussions on topics related to their respective portfolios and the current international landscape. These include Europe´s competitiveness, industrial policy and its economic opportunities; the consequences of Russia´s war of aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and enlargement; climate change, the clean transition and related technologies; Global Gateway and the sustainable development of the EU's partner countries; transport innovation and the future of tourism; food chains and water resilience, trade and tariffs; as well as the challenges and opportunities of technology and artificial intelligence.
