We, the leaders of the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Moldova (hereinafter Moldova), held our first EU - Moldova Summit in Chisinau, Moldova on 4 July 2025 and concluded the following:

Today, President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa will travel to Chișinău for the first ever EU-Moldova Summit.

At the first ever EU-Moldova Summit in Chișinău, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa and President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu agreed to deepen cooperation in the interest of EU and Moldovan citizens.

Thank you for hosting us here in the beautiful city of Chișinău, it is wonderful to be back here again. 12 months ago, we have opened accession talks. 9 months ago, we agreed on the Growth Plan for Moldova.

On Monday 30 June and Tuesday 1 July, Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will meet with leaders from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia to accelerate the delivery of the EU's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

The EU-funded Western Balkans Guarantee 4 SME Resilience is supporting financing under favourable lending conditions
