On the eve of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, the European Union, the Government of Ukraine and business leaders from the EU and Ukraine marked a significant step forward in strengthening the EU–Ukraine business partnership

President Ursula von der Leyen will participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, taking place on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 of July, in Rome, Italy.

We, the leaders of the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Moldova (hereinafter Moldova), held our first EU - Moldova Summit in Chisinau, Moldova on 4 July 2025 and concluded the following:

At the first ever EU-Moldova Summit in Chișinău, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Council António Costa and President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu agreed to deepen cooperation in the interest of EU and Moldovan citizens.

Thank you for hosting us here in the beautiful city of Chișinău, it is wonderful to be back here again. 12 months ago, we have opened accession talks. 9 months ago, we agreed on the Growth Plan for Moldova.

Today, President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa will travel to Chișinău for the first ever EU-Moldova Summit.
